7. KMPi Setup and Operation

7.1.

Basic Setup

NOTE:

See Section 12.4 for Sample Applications.

1. Mount KMPi on a flat, horizontal surface with no more than two Pump Heads attached

(see Section 9 for

Pump Head Setup details).

2. Connect both Octopus Cables to the back of the KMPi.

3. Connect up to three pressure transducers to the Pressure Transducer Octopus Cable ports as suitable for application.

4. Connect up to two Automatic Backpressure Valves (ABV’s) to the Auxiliary Component Octopus Cable’s

“Valve 1” and/or “Valve 2” ports, then connect ABV power cable(s)

(see Section 10.4 for ABV Setup

details).

5. Connect power cable to the KMPi.

6. Follow guidelines and diagrams below to determine which Auxiliary Components are required to operate specific Pump Modes for manual, semi-automated, and automated processes

(see Section 8 for Pump

Mode Setup details).

i.

If using Auxiliary Pump, configure Auxiliary Pump before starting application

(see Section 10.2

for Pump Setup details).

ii. After connecting Auxiliary Components, power on KMPi first before powering on Auxiliary

Components.

7. Connect TFF flowpath to KMPi.

8. Input Concentration Factor/Diafiltration Volume (CF/DV) set-points into KMPis Pump Mode settings to start application.
