3 The WPS LED on both devices starts blinking orange and then turns solid green as soon as the connection has been established.
4 Wait for two minutes to allow the TG234 to switch to repeater mode and then check the following LEDs:
The Link Quality LED must be solid green or orange.
The Access Point LED must be solid green.
5 The TG234 repeater is now connected to your access point.
Step 4: Connect the TG234 to your set-top box (optional)
Optionally, you can connect up to two set-top boxes to the TG234. The TG234 will then work both as repeater for your access point and station for your set-top box. This way you can use one TG234 for two functions and you do not need a dedicated TG234 to connect your set-top box.
The number of set-top boxes that you can connect depends on the quality of your wireless signal and bandwidth used for your video signal.
Be aware that after a restart (or power cut) the TG234 will re-evaluate its situation as described in
“How the TG234 chooses the correct mode when switched to Auto” on page 9
. As a result, the TG234 will then switch to Station mode because it detected a set-top box on the Ethernet port at start-up.
To avoid this, switch the TG234 to Repeater mode if you plan to connect devices to the Ethernet port.
For each set-top box, proceed as follows:
1 Connect one end of the Ethernet cable (this is the cable with the yellow connectors) to the one of the yellow Ethernet ports on the back of your TG234.
2 Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your set-top box’s Ethernet port.

Step 1: Switch the TG234 to Auto mode
Take the TG234 out of its box and move the mode selector on the back to Auto.
If you don’t want to rely on the automatic mode selection mechanism, you can force the TG234 to station mode by moving the mode selector to Station.
Step 2: Connect the TG234 to your set-top box
You can connect up to two set-top boxes to the TG234:
For each set-top box:
1 Connect one end of the Ethernet cable (this is the cable with the yellow connectors) to the one of the yellow Ethernet ports on the back of your TG234.
2 Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your set-top box’s Ethernet port.
Step 3: Power on the TG234
1 Plug the connector of the power supply adapter into the TG234’s power inlet port (
2 Plug the adapter into a power outlet.
).
3 The Power LED instantly turns solid green. If this is not the case, check the connections that you made.
4 Wait two minutes to allow the TG234 to complete the start up phase.
Step 4: Connect the TG234 station to your access point (or repeater)
If the Link Quality and Wireless LEDs are on then you can skip this step because your TG234 and access point are pre-paired.
1 Press the WPS button on the TG234 station that you just installed.
