Connecting a cable converter box and a VCR
With this connection you can:
• watch videotapes
• watch and record basic and premium cable channels
• record one channel while watching the same or another non-premium channel

Tune the VCR to channel
3 or 4 (whichever channel is vacant in your area), place the TV in
VIDEO 1 mode, and then use the converter box to change channels.
You will need:
• one cable signal splitter
• four coaxial cables
• one set of standard A/V cables (If your
VCR has S-video, you can use an S-video cable instead of the standard video cable. See
“Note Regarding Picture Quality” on page 7.)

Note:
If you have a mono VCR, connect TV L/Mono Audio IN to VCR Audio OUT using only one audio cable.
When you use a cable converter box with your TV, you may not be able to use the remote control to program certain features (for example, blocking channels).

With this connection you can:
• watch videotapes
• watch satellite and TV channels

You will need:
• three coaxial cables
• two sets of standard A/V cables (If your satellite receiver has S-video, you can use an
S-video cable from the satellite receiver instead of the standard video cable. See
“Note Regarding Picture Quality” on page 7.)

To watch satellite programs, the TV must select
VIDEO-1 (see “Selecting the signal source” on page 16).
To watch VCR programs, the TV must select
