notes discussion
n
If the RESELECT or ASELECT word expression matches several terms within an item that is not defined as concordable to the word level, then the OCCURRENCES count will not reflect the total number of occurrences for each of the several terms, but will rather be incremented only once for the given concordance level.
n
For example, if an item that is not concorded to the word level contains the text "MY FATHER AND YOUR FATHER
ARE FRIENDS", and if that item is searched during a
RESELECT or ASELECT command for a match on the word "FATHER", INFO-Text adds 1 to the occurrences count for the word "FATHER", even though the word appears twice in the text.
The RESELECT and ASELECT commands use the
POSTINGS setting to determine whether to display the results of a RESELECT or ASELECT command using a word expression as a search term. If the POSTINGS setting is on (Y), INFO-Text displays the individual words found as a result of each RESELECT or ASELECT command, in the format shown below. This is a valuable tool for determining which search word expressions narrow down the selected records most efficiently.
