INFO-Text STOPWORD
STOPW
ORD stopword
adds the specified word to a list of words not to be concorded and removes that word from the dictionary
argument
stopword word to be removed from dictionary and added to list of words not to be-concorded.
notes
n
INFO-Text treats a stopword as a word during searches based on a word expression that contains the within (w) operator to search a text item. For example, the word expression ‘APPLES W 3 BASKET’ directs INFO-Text to search for the word APPLES exactly three words apart from the word BASKET. The text ‘APPLES IN THE
BASKET’ would satisfy the search criteria, even though IN and THE are stopwords.
n
To reinitialize the stopword file, the datafile must be reconcorded with the command CONCORD NEW, at which time INFO-Text displays the prompt:
DO YOU WISH TO RETAIN THE EXISTING STOPWORDS? (Y OR N)
discussion
If you answer N (no) to this prompt, INFO-Text deletes all stopwords not found in the INFO-Text default stopword file from the list of current stopwords.
The STOPWORD command instructs INFO-Text to add the named word to the list of stopwords for the selected datafile. INFO-Text also removes all references for the specified word from the current dictionary.
If an extended datafile has not been concorded, you can add any word to the stopword list for the file. Once an extended datafile has been concorded, you can only specify as a new stopword a word that already exists in the dictionary associated with the datafile.
INFO-Text automatically includes the following standard set of stopwords for each extended datafile.

INFO-Text maintains the default list of stopwords in the
INFO-Text internal file INFOSTP. You may use this list of stopwords or your own list. For information about using your own stopword file, see Appendix G Controlling Default
Assignments.
example
