Appendix Q Configuration files
The INFO configuration file is an ASCII file which may be used for setting up INFO variables, either system-wide or application only. When an INFO username is entered,
INFO will search for the info.cfg file (text.cfg for INFO-
Text) and execute it as a command input file after the
INFO username has been entered but before running the programme PROFILE. THE INFO configuration file will accept interactive commands not associated with SELECT and RELATE, that do not update the INFO dr9 directory file, and that do not require terminal input.
If the settings in the configuration file are to be applied to all INFO users, then the info.cfg (text.cfg) file should be placed in the infosys directory. If the settings are particular to an application, the file should be placed in the application area (if in Application Mode) or the alternative directory (if in ADIR mode). If the settings are particular to one user, the file should be placed in the user’s local directory.
The default settings or execution of some internal variables have changed between previous versions of
INFO. To emulate a previous version, see the table below.

INFO’s search rules for the info.cfg configuration file are:
First look in the local directory.
Secondly, if in Application Mode (see Appendix N of the
INFO Reference Manual), INFO will look in the application directory.
Lastly, INFO will look in the INFOSYS directory.
